482. As and Like
(X) You don't look as your mother.
(O) You don't look like your mother.
"As" is a conjunction, and is usually followed by a noun or pronoun in the nominative case.
"Like" isn't a conjunction, but an adjective which behaves like a preposition in being followed by 
a noun or pronoun in the objective case.

483. So and Such

(a) So
(X) It's such small that you can't see it.
(O) It's so small that you can't see it.
"So" is an adverb, and must qualify an adjective or another adverb. 

(b) Such
(X) I've never seen a so large animal before.
(O) I've never seen such a large animal before.
"Such" is an adjective and must qualify a noun.

484. No and Not

(a) No
(X) I've made  no any mistakes in dictation.
(O) I've made no mistakes in dictation.

* "No" answers a yes/no question.
"No, the president wasn't surprised by the results of the election."

* "No" precedes a noun that has no article.
The company had no worthy rivals in the industry.

* "No" can be used before a noun that is preceded by an adjective, as in the preceding example, 
but it is not used before any, much, many, or enough.
Jim has no argument with which to continue the discussion.
The manager had no reason to support his request for a raise.

(b) Not
(X) I have made no any mistakes in dictation.
(O) I have not made any mistakes in dictation.
We use "no" meaning "not any", as an adjective to qualify the noun. 

* "Not" precedes a noun that has an article.
The virus is not the source of the outbreak.

* "Not" precedes any, much, many, or enough.
Not many amateur astronomers can afford the equipment necessary to study the nova.
There is not much budget left for another trial.

* "Not" makes a verb negative.
They do not want to proceed with the experimental study.

Note: We only use "no" as an adverb before a comparative. eg) I have no more to say.
