[Essay/¿µÀÛ] (T-115) Which do you prefer: planning vs. not planning for your leisure time?
¶ö¶ó  |  12-06-21 16:41

 Some people prefer to plan activities for their free time very carefully. Others choose not to make any plans at all for their free time. Which do you prefer – planning or not planning for your leisure time? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your choice.

In our hectic lives, what to do with free time has become an issue. People have different views on this subject in that some people prefer to plan their free time very carefully while others prefer to leave their free time unplanned. In my case, I prefer not to plan. Not planning free time provides more excitement, and it is also more relaxing.
* hectic = Á¤½Å¾øÀÌ ¹Ù»Û, ºýºýÇÑ / free time = ÀÚÀ¯½Ã°£ / in that = ~¶ó´Â Á¡¿¡¼ / unplanned = ¹Ì¸® °èȹÇÏÁö ¾ÊÀº, ¹«°èȹÀÇ / excitement = ÈïºÐ, ½Å³²

To begin with, those who choose not to plan out their free time will probably find it to be more exciting due to the spontaneous nature of having no plans. The point of having free time is to not have a schedule. Having too many plans can actually take away the excitement of having free time. If I look forward to sleeping late on my day off, but have planned to meet friends for an early hike, the real meaning of the free time is eliminated. We spend every workday doing something that we do not want to do, so it is very important to do exactly what we want to do in our free time. People who plan their free time too carefully lose the enjoyment and excitement of it; thus, it destroys the point of having free time in the first place. However, with no planning, we are free to enjoy the spontaneous nature of free time.
* spontaneous = ÁïÈïÀûÀÎ, ÀúÀý·Î ÀϾ´Â, ÀÚ¿¬½º·¯¿î / nature = º»Áú, À¯Çü, Ư¼º / take away = ¾ø¾Ö´Ù, °¡Áö°í °¡´Ù / look forward to = ~À» ±â´ëÇÏ´Ù, Çмö°í´ëÇÏ´Ù / eliminate = Á¦°ÅÇÏ´Ù, ¾ø¾Ö´Ù / destroy =Æı«ÇÏ´Ù / in the first place = ù°·Î, Á¦ÀÏ ¸ÕÀú

Moreover, those who do not plan what they will do often feel more relaxed than those who plan out their free time. If we have leisure time but eat it up with plans and schedules, we may as well have no free time at all. We will just be tired and stressed as if we went to work instead. Those who tend to plan, buy tickets and make arrangements with other people constantly worry about something upsetting those activities. However, if we do not plan everything down to each detail, we will be free to do as we please, and that can be very relaxing, even if we end up doing very little. It does not matter how much we do in our free time just as long as we get the chance to relax.
* leisure time = ¿©°¡ / eat up = ´Ù ½á¹ö¸®´Ù, Àâ¾Æ¸Ô´Ù / may as well = ~ÇÏ´Â°Ô ´õ ÁÁ´Ù / make an arrangement = °áÁ¤ÇÏ´Ù / please = ~ÇÏ°í ½Í¾îÇÏ´Ù, ¿øÇÏ´Ù, ±â»µÇÏ´Ù / end up ~ing = °á±¹ ~ÇÏ°Ô µÇ´Ù / as long as = ~ÇÏ´Â ÇÑ

To sum up, free time is time aside from normal routines for the relaxation and refreshment that people need. Planning too much cancels out the joy of having free time. Not planning too much will be more exciting and provide people with more relaxation. Give it a try and do not plan anything for your next day off and see how much you enjoy it!
