* used to + 동사원형
1. used to ~ = 전에는 ~ 하곤 했다 (과거에는 규칙적으로 일어났지만 지금은 그렇지 않음)
I used to play tennis a lot, but I don't play very often now.
"Do you go to the movies much?" "Not any more, but I used to."
2. used to는 상황의 변화에 대해 말할 때도 사용한다.
This building is now a furniture store. It used to be a movie theater.
I used to think Mark was unfriendly, but now I realize he's a very nice person.
3. "I used to do sth"은 과거형으로만 사용하며, 현재형이 없다.
현재에 대해 말하려면 단순현재(I do)를 써야 한다.
We used to live in a small town, but now we live in Chicago.
There used to be four movie theaters in town. Now there is only one.
4. 의문문 = Did (you) use to ~ ?/ 부정문 = didn't use to ~
Did you use to eat a lot of candy when you were a child?
I didn't use to like him.

2. Mark는 고기를 먹었었다. 지금은 고기를 먹지 않는다.
Mark used to eat meat, but now he doesn't eat it.
3. Jane은 명랑하고 외향적이었는데 지금은 내향적이다.
Jane used to be cheerful and outgoing, but now she is introvert.
4. 바나나는 제주에서 비쌌었는데, 지금은 매우 싸다.
Bananas used to cost much in Jeju, but now they are quite cheap.
