Say: He traveled by train yesterday.
Note: We say: by train, by boat, by plane, by bike; also, by land, by sea, by air, by bus;
in a bus or on a bus; by car or in a car, by taxi or in a taxi; on horse-back, on a donkey, on a bicycle; on foot.

14. complain about, not for = ~에 대해 불평하다
Don't say: Annette complained for the weather.
Say: Annette complained about the weather.
Note: When talking about illness we use "complain of" -> She complained of a sore throat.

* Commentary *
Researchers interviewed 1,000 people who had been burgled. They found that a quarter of them suffered from anxiety or forms of depression, while a further 25 per cent felt saddened by the thought they could no longer protect their home and family. The researchers said that feelings of insecurity set in for many people after a burglary.
