[Debate/토론] (HM-047) Friend reaches end of the road with cheap traveling companion

[Problem]

저는 몇 년간 친구 한 명과 여행을 해왔습니다. 저희는 한 방을 같이 쓰고 대개 즐거운 시간을 보내요. 불행히도 제 친구는 돈 쓰는 데 인색합니다. 그녀는 아주 부유한 데도 날이면 날마다 1달러 때문에 다툽니다.   
I have been taking trips with a friend for a few years. We share a room and usually have a good time. Unfortunately, my friend is cheap. She fights for every dollar every day of the year even though she is very well off.

최근 들어 그녀가 더욱 나빠졌어요. 우리가 마지막으로 다녀 온 여행을 하는 중에 그녀는 저희가 숙박한 호텔의 아침 뷔페식사로 ‘점심을 만들었어요.” 뷔페 음식 대다수에 반출할 수 없다는 표지가 걸려 있었음에도 말입니다. 한 번도 아니고, 두 번도 아니고, 날마다 그녀는 샌드위치, 과일과 커피를 포장해서 점심을 구매할 필요가 없게 했어요. 제가 그녀더러 제발 그렇게 하지 말라고 했지만, 그녀는 무시해 버렸습니다.     
Lately she has become worse. During the last tour we took, she "made lunch" off the breakfast buffets in the hotels where we stayed, although most of them had signs posted saying that food should not be taken out. Not once, not twice, but every single day she packed a sandwich, fruit and coffee so she wouldn't have to buy lunch. I asked her to please not do it, but she brushed me off.

저는 그녀를 좋아하지만, 그녀에 대해 수치스러운 것이 아주 싫어요. 저는 올바른 일을 하고 내가 남들이 해 주기를 바라는 것을 남들에게 해주는 것을 신조로 하고 있습니다. 그리고 그녀와 함께 여행을 하고 싶지 않은 지점에 도달했어요. 조언 좀 주시겠어요? - 캘리포니아 주의 여행자   
I like her, but I hate feeling ashamed of her. I believe in doing the right thing, and doing unto others what I would like them to do unto me, and I have reached the point where I just don't want to travel with her. Any advice? - CALIFORNIA TRAVELER

여행자이신 독자님께: 예. 독자님의 친구분에게 이제 둘이 함께 하는 마지막 여행을 다녀왔다고 말씀하세요. 그리고 나서 그 이유를 그녀에게 정확히 일러 주세요.
DEAR TRAVELER: Yes. Tell your friend you have now taken your last trip together, and then tell her exactly why.

* be obsessed with ~에 사로잡혀 있다, 강박 관념에 시달리다 
(= if something or someone obsesses you, you think about them all the time and you cannot think of anything else)
e.g.) Why are you so obsessed with your hair? 너는 왜 그렇게 머리에 사로잡혀 있니?  
 
* brush somebody off 들은 체도 하지 않다, 무시하다 
(= to refuse to listen to someone or their ideas, especially by ignoring them or saying something rude) 
e.g.) When I tried to talk to her about it she just brushed me off. 
내가 그 일에 대해서 그녀에게 이야기 하려 하자 그녀는 딱 잘라 거절했다.
